Default Throwing the Surfboard in the S2000?

I am picking up my new S this week - I'm very excited! Only problem with me and the S - I surf. Luckily I ride a short board. Does anyone in here surf and use his/her S as transportation to the beach? I figured I'd just throw the nose of the board into the passenger's flooring (obviously riding stag) and have the tail stick out on either side of the seat. Any suggestions?

I will not put any kind of rack system on the S. That would be a sin! Okay, I would use something that is very very very temporary/removable.

Ouch, can't see it dude. Even with a short board you may have width problems and then the wax in the hot sun?

One thing you could consider is getting a hardtop. Then you could put a rack on that. Alex....gimme a call when you get the car!

i go surfing 3 times a week and i have no problems taking myu boards in my s2k, be it my shortboard, my funboard or my long board. just turn the sideways so the edge is going straight up and then run it down the middle in between the seats.

i've never tried it...always been afraid of getting wax all over the seats and carpet. Thats what the civic is for.

um...i surf all the time with my S. I ride a 6'1" shortboard.

I put the bottom of the board in the pass seat well and use the seat belt to hold the board in place. The board (wax side) is facing the seat and the top of the board is resting on the seat. I position it so that it is slightly angled toward the outside of the car, so on right turns the board doesn't come smack me in the face.

Digital James - I have no clue how/what you are talking about. Run the board between the seats?? How does that work??

It works out well. How I'm gonna go surfing when it rains....I haven't figured that part out yet. Good thing I live in Cali!

not qute the same thing, but i often fit my skis or snowboard in the s. just make sure you wrap any edges or anything that might get the car dirty with a towel.
