this is facinating....there seems to be a definite link between going faster than the posted limit and getting a ticket....so far no one has been cited for "driving a silver car".....duh.

a year of s2k driving and 0 tickets [the only high speeds were on a closed course.]

7 months, no tickets but.....

The day I got it I was having a ball. Finally I decided it might be time for some lunch (5:30pm). So I'm on my street and see the flash of a speed camera. I'm doing 65 in a 50 zone.

So I am waiting nervously for the next couple of weeks, and nada, nothing, zilch!

I guess my rego wasn't on record yet. Ah the benefits of a blundering bureaucracy.

red...

twice warned for no lic plate on the front, no fine, no speeding tickets, but lucky once when a black Benz pulls by me, lo and behold a mile down the road, bingo, he takes the hit...

Like Kenny Rogers sings, "you gotta know when to hold 'em and (also) when ta fold 'em".

Yea, I find that interesting, too, my man! Everyone knows that RED is the best and only color for the S2000. Silver owners, as well as black and white owners, SHOULD get tickets!

We have production line buddies! I own red/black #8834, also picked up from the dealer 8/31 but in Florence, Alabama. No tickets (in the S2000) to date, and I'm a V1/Passport owner for many years (here's to Mike Valentine's genius - thanks Mike for so many years of pleasurable driving).

I was, however, pulled over by a local cop late one night who said I was doing at least 85 in a 45 zone when I passed him (he was sitting at a closed gas station) When I asked for proof he said 85 was an estimate and since my V1 never went off I knew I had him. Didn't have proof of insurance or a tag yet either (both were applied for), and I had consumed a couple of beers with dinner, but he let me go anyway. Nice officer. Don't believe the 'Good ole boy' stories you hear about the south.

Black/Black, one written warning in Newport Beach for demonstration of speed, no tickets. Very nice policeman. My former secretary came by to see the car. Made a left onto PCH and ran it up to redline in 1st and 2nd. Backed off to speed limit. Traffic heading south on PCH included a motorcycle policeman a couple of cars back from the front. He came a cruisin' through traffic and pulled me over at the Viper/Porsche car rental place near the Thai restaurant across the street from the methane vent near Hogue Hospital. (Jurassic Fart) He said I was going a bit fast. I told him that I guessed I showed off a bit for my friend. He called in my tags and wrote and wrote. Came back, handed me what looked like a ticket and said, "I'm giving you a warning, take it easy. Nice car. Don't think telling the truth doesn't help." I said, "thanks!" I'm framing it.

As to red cars, everyone knows that when you pick a "f*ck-me" red roadster you get the attention you're looking for. Tickets come with that territory.
