Default ticking sound???

hi guys...sorry i haven't introduced myself.

I previosuly owned a 2001CLtypeS and decided to go for a S2K

I picked up a Sebring Silver w/t BLK Interior about 3 weeks ago and I have a huge smile on my face everyday when i walk up to the car.

I'm nearing 600 miles now and i really can't wait to rev the car up when i get a chance.

Today comming home i noticed that there was a ticking sound comming from the outside of the car. I couldn't really narrow down the source but I don't think it's comming from the engine bay...but somewhere from either the front or rear left wheel.

After a search on this forum it seems like people have encountered similar problems, only with more miles on the car.

The only thing that i could possibly think about were the aluminum caps i bought to replace the rubber ones that cap the tire inflation valve. Could this be it???

I am taking the car in pretty soon to get a spoiler and side strakes installed. I will post picts soon.

By the way where can I get information about build date, build number....about my car?

Thank~

sounds to me that you have a bomb on your car that is only active while the engine is on!

Sound like a pebble in your tire tread.

Did you check your tires to make sure youdon't ave a nail or screw in them. When I get a ticking sound, that's what it usually is.

Right on MarkS2K!!!

After a day thinking that the sound went away...i turned my radio down trying to hear the engine when shifting.
And it started up again...tick tick tick tick tick....

Came home, parked and felt up the wheels like a blind man. I came across a rock like object that wouldn't come out with some force. After further investigation i see something that resembled a nail head stuck in the tires....

CRAP! i found a 1/2" screw stuck in the tread of my tire. When pulling it out it almost seemed as if it was forced into the tire straight down...The screw head was so worn that it looked like a nail. I hope it didn't poke a hole through the rubber. The tire pressure felt fine till the moment i walked away sadly shaking my head.

I'll have to check it again tomorrow morning to see if there is any tire deflation.
