Default Time to get back behind the wheel...

I am looking to get back behind the wheel of an S2000.

It's only been 7 months since I sold my beloved 07 and though I have driven a whole mess of cars since then while shopping with other friends for their own automotive purchases nothing else has come close for me in terms of price and driving experience.

I have a new job now, and with some extra spending money I have run out of reasons not to buy the car.

However there are really two types of S2000's that are out there and available to me.

The first choice being going with a high mileage car, (most of which have some light modifications) for the lowest price possible simply for the sake of getting back in the drivers seat as soon as possible...

OR

The second choice which is getting a low mileage car what is cleaner and in better shape, but at the obvious premium of a few more grand as well as color choices that are not my preference.

Because I currently have a daily driver to get me to school and work right now I figured that I have the time to wait it out for the car thats right for me. But finding the one thats right for me is still well over my price range and will continue to be so for a long time so I am looking in the short term.

I was looking to get an AP1 this time around, since I cannot afford to get a practically new one like I had before, I want to experience the best possible AP1 I can find, as close to 03 as possible and either in White, Red, or one of the Yellows and I'd like to have those colors in that order of priority.

The biggest problem I have been having is finding a White with low mileage. There are still some Red and Yellow cars out there well below 100k miles in my price range, I am just having a little trouble settling.

All that said, what do you folks out there think is the best way to go? This next purchase is going to be a permanent one. The car will be driven till the motor dies and beyond with either a complete rebuild or new F20C placed in later. Given that would you get the high mileage car in the color combo you desired most? or perhaps go for the colors you don't want as much but have far fewer miles?

All input is appreciated!

Thanks.

So....exactly how much are you wanting to spend? Because something on that ultra low range of price is probably going to have some issues.

yeah you are really going to need to give us a price range. If you have like 11-13 grand you can get a nice S2K

Yes this car will most definitely be seeing some track time, but mostly be used as the weekend car or just whenever the daily gets unbearably boring.

My price range for said car would be on the order of 10 to 11 tops. For me less than 10k is prefered, but I'd obviously dig a little deeper in my pockets for a car with my fav color combo ( white with red/black interior) or that has exceptional mileage for it's model year.

I'm not sure what you consider low mileage but I just picked up an 05 SSM with 84k for $11k. Good mech condition with good tires.

for 11-13 grand you can get an ap1 between the miles of 40-55k. I got MY01, very clean, for 11.5 with 54,xxx miles.

That's a damn good deal. Most of the cars I've seen in that mileage range are 3 or 4 grand more and not in any of the colors I want. :-(
