As much as I'd love to, there is NO way I am coming across a 08 or 09 with the kind of budget I have stated. My only realistic goal is to find a nice AP1

You may have to travel several states away to find a good deal in the color you want. If you find a good seller (I mean like a reputable seller who is a member on this board) who is selling in another state but the price, miles and color is right...it would be worth buying a 1-way flight to buy the car and drive it home.

if you have a good DD and you have the patience to wait for the right one, i would wait on the color, mileage, etc that would be your ideal choice. while i love my SSM it was my third choice in color behind GPW and berlina. While i am absolutely in love, i think if i had to do it all over again i woulda waited to find the perfect combo. it was my impatience combined with the mods that were already on the car that made me pull the trigger, but either way keep us posted, and hopefully you will be behind the wheel soon!

I am in the same boat as you. I'll probably spend a little more at 14-16k since it would be a permanent car to my small collection.

Why not finish college and then buy the car? If you are under the age of 25...insurance costs (as you know) are insanely high on this car. It's up to you but financially it doesn't make sense to drive anything but a cheap beater while paying for college tuition. This is a bad time to be in debt with the economy the way it is and all of US manufacturing being given to China.

my 2 cents.

I've got a lot to put down on the car already and with my budget stated I've run the numbers and my bill shouldn't be more than what I pay for my iPhone plan every month.

I don't plan on getting in over my head as far as that goes this time round ( my last payment forced me to get rid of the car )

But my credit is pretty much perfect and I already have a bank Im working with so its all good.

Rest assured the numbers work for the budget I have stated above. But really I spend more time behind the wheel of my car than I do sitting at my desk at home. I want that wheel to be something that I genuinely enjoy.

Just got done reading that lengthy post about just how rare GPW cars are...

Depressing...

Im pretty upset that 03 GPWs came with the tan trim instead of the Red and Black.

Found this and posted it as well in the "Is this used S2000 worth it?" thread.

Its the exact color combo I want, great rims, supercharger...

But 134K....

Is that the sort of thing alot of people compromised on for the sake of price?

FYI I would not pay more than 10K for this car but given that and perhaps the will to see through negotiations lower if possible would this example even be worth my time?
