Time for a new clutch

I can't speak for Exedy because no one responded to my post on Exedy vs ACT, but I went with ACT for the clutch and pressure plate and a Comptech lightened flywheel because it was cheaper.
I'm SC'd with 4.57 gears and header and I'm very, very happy with the new clutch setup. The pedal effort is only slighter stiffer than stock, driveability is unaffected, throttle repsonse seems better, and acceleration seems improved. No more slipping too.
My shop recommended Exedy and said they're setup is pretty tough, but I don't plan on serious racing (just occasional auto-x's). They also said that the ACT clutch is really just a painted Honda part, and that the pressure plate is just a Honda part with extra springs to add extra pressure (I think they said springs). They said Exedy's makes their own stuff from scratch. Don't know if these are facts or not.

I was going ACT pressure plate, stock clutch and Comptech flywheel. With the discounts I can get, compared the Exedy with flywheel was very little difference, so I am trying the Exedy. It will be installed next week.
Exedy Hyper-single is an exremely stong clutch (holding power as well as pedal effort). I have it and I like the way it sticks, but drivability is not the best.
Takes a bit of getting used to. If you are NA, you won't need this much holding power.

i had an ACT 2100 on my DSM. i was probably making around 270 hp with that car, and the clutch held the power just fine, it just couldn't take the hard AWD launches. for a lighter RWD car, i'd say it would probably be perfect. pedal effort will be a little stiffer than stock
just to give all you guys a little info about the exedy hyper single. i have a comptech s/c w/aftercooler and 8lbs tech2 pulley, aswell as many many other upgrades. however, back to clutch i thought the same as you guys when i first got it then it completely shredded on me and as of late i don't know of a replacement for it. so i purchased another one and now that one is going out on me. i've had it with these clutches, then i saw a thread some where that yes they are good race clutches ,but not designed for FI. don't know what i'm going to go w/ right now but have a little while to decide cause my motor just went on me so while i'm rebuilding that i'll decide on a clutch. maybe the toda flywheel, act clutch, and act PP. any comments appreciated...
Just saw this. Moving to S2000 Talk.
