Timing belt or timing chain?
I'm not positive it is an interference engine...but I don't see how it couldn't be...
And I was actually thinking this the other day. I was looking behind the intake (stock) and noticed only accessory belts...did really click with the timing chain right away though...its nice to know for sure.

My old 318is had a belt and it needed to be changed at 50K. About 100Kms later it was making a terrible slapping soound and it turns out the new belt was shredding.
S2000 uses a chain because it is more resiliant than a belt and required for the high rev range.

It's definitely a chain. My 2003 S2K's timing chain tensioner broke at 19,000 miles and 3.5 yrs. The 5yr/60Kmi warranty I bought with the car paid for the $450 fix. However, 18 months later, just 3 weeks after the warranty expired, the chain became "stretched" and had to be replaced at a cost of $1,600. This is a 5-year old car with under 30,000 miles. It has never been raced or driven "aggressively." Both the dealership and Honda Customer Service say, "Tough luck." Used to love my S2K, talked it up to everybody. It's Corvette for me next. I'll never buy another Honda.

Don't i know it. My 300zx had to have its belts changed every 60k or you risked blowing the engine when (not if) it snapped
