Default Tips for selling an s2000 in October?

Does anyone have any tips/experiences on selling an s2000 in October? I have it post on cars.com, craigslist, and a few other places, but I really don't think many people are looking for a convertible during October in New Jersey. I don't need to sell it, but I would really like to get into something with more space as my DD.

So has anyone sold an S during the autumn/winter time? I am almost considering selling it to a Car Max type place and losing $1000 or so.

when i needed to get rid of my first car i just went to carmax. i figured id get like 1 to 2k off of the kbb price and i did. personally i dont think this is the best time to sell a car in new jersey. youll def lose money. maybe keep it till spring or summer? or carmax if you really need to get rid of it.

it might have more to do with this:

in all seriousness though, take GOOD PICS of the car. if you have any pics of the car with fall foliage from past years, post those pics. people need to visualize themselves taking that perfect fall drive.

good luck.

I bought mine in October - but then again in Florida.

Though even if I were in the NE looking to buy, I would pull the trigger pre-winter so I could get everything up to speed for the summer.

Where would you sell it to Carmax? There aren't any in NJ.

After doing ALOT of research on car pricing..
You wont lose a mere $1000 for the car.. but ALOT more..
Resell value to dealership = crap.
Depending on the year model of your car however.
Because a 2001 S2000 at around 40K mileage resells to a dealership at around $12,000< so yeah. Dont expect much from a dealership. Private sell would be your choice if you dont want to lose a huge chunk of money but if your in a hurry I guess it comes down to your choice. But nevertheless good luck.

I hate to bring the bad news here but do some research, you will lose A LOT more than $1,000 selling it to Car Max or trading it in. The price you could get for it privately is far beyond what either of those two will give you. The fact is that right now S2000's are out of season and no one is getting what they want for them. You could get lucky, but if I were you I would just ask something very reasonable.

Just a word of advice though, I had an S2K for a year and I'm about 6'3...getting in and out of that car every day wasn't fun so I bought a G35 coupe which has loads more room. One year later and I can't wait to get back into another S2K. This happens very frequently. Just remember that while you compromise having no space with an S2K, most times you compromise having fun with more space.

If you sell your car, you'll understand me in a few months or so.

yeah, my 1yr anniversary of owning my S is Dec 8 (literally 2 weeks after the last leaves fell)

not a coincidence. convertible prices hit rock bottom from nov-feb. you'll be better off waiting until march if you can financially make it.
