Default Tire Changes

Is it true that tires need to be changed roughly every 10,000 miles on an S2000???

It all depends on how you drive it. If you drive it hard all the time, probably less for the rear tires. The S02s are very soft, but sticky.

My dealer recommended that I get new front tires when I went in for the first service at 5000 miles. I had them align it instead and made it to 11,000 miles. All four tires were pretty well worn out by then.

Of course, I have fun in the mountains in my car rather than drive it on straight roads all the time.

I don't mind having to change tires that often. My motorcycle can wear out a rear tire in as little as 2500 miles.

I got about 13,000 out of my rear tires and the fronts are still the original ones that came with the car. But fading fast at 19,000....

@ 19K still have all four originals. Fronts will need replacing soon. Have had an alignment that seemed to help extend the life.

Speaking of tires...hasn't the price of our OEM S-02s dropped consideribly over the last year? I seem to remember them costing about $180 each but now I see the Tirerack has the fronts for $133 and the rears for $142. Hopefully that trend continues or at least these prices remain.

A year ago it cost me $750 for a full set, shipped to my home and a month later it was almost exactly $200 for one rear shipped. (That tire didn't last too long. )

Lower prices are a good sign, assuming they'll still be available in two or three years when I wear out my current set.

I have a feeling my s-02's arent going to last me long, so i was wondering if anyone uses s-03's? Does anyone know how many miles i could expect out of them or how much less traction you get with them? Thanks
