A week of of sub-freezing temperatures, and finally a warm day. Back the S2K out of the garage and head down the canyon.

It's kind of handling funny... Pull over in a gas station, flat rear tire. Some minor sidewall damage. Visible screw in center of tread.

Tried to pump it up to get it to the tire store. BANG! goes the sidewall. Fortunately, not in my face. What an hour for AAA flatbed tow to tire store.

So what the hell do I do now?

1. Buy 2 new S02's from local firestone dealer. Can have them today, but will likely be non Honda OEM S02's. ~$560 today.

2. Buy 2 new S02's from tire rack. They claims that they understands the S2000 tires are different from stock S02's, and they have 'em in stock. ~$411 plus installation, second day.

3. Buy SSR Integrals (or GT1), 17" with 4 new AVS-sports. Keep stock rims for track use. $1961 delivered.

Oh wise S2K'ers, help me make my decision!

See Mikey's post of November 17, at 12:10! I found this to be very informative and likely won't allow for mistakes in the delivery of your new tires, should you choose to get the S02's.

Good luck!

pfb,

Are the SSR wheels are wider in the back?

It's always good to have an extra set of wheels to ride on.

This would be my choice, since this is exactly what I already did! Don't forget to factor in another ~$600 for Kumho Victoracer 700 tires delivered.

The GT1 is more expensive though, I think I paid ~$2137 for that setup.

Option #2, unless you really want the SSRs.

I had the same thing happen to me at 3600 miles, replaced both rears from Tire Rack. They were delivered to my house the next day

The offset is 45mm for both. See the link to my PhotoPoint album: TFota's SSR GT1 wheels
