Ooops...You must've slipped this in while I was typing my post above. I guess we '00 Silver/Blacks think alike.

The spacers have been removed since the time I got the car from the dealer. As a matter of fact, I have changed suspensions already. I bought Bilstein coilovers, thinking I could set them softer than stock but they only gave me a harder ride, regardless of the setting. So, I had them removed.

Anyway, I've been using 27psi on the rear tires for several days now and there doesn't seem to be any noticeable handling or braking problems with the car. I guess this is due to the fact that when warmed up, tire psi goes up to 29 to 30psi which should be okay for everyday driving.

You may be better off changing to a tire with a softer sidewall if you want less harshness than reducing tire pressure. Lowering tire pressures too much is a safety issue because of the extra heat generated as well as the additional fatigueing of the steel belts

William,

What pressure do you keep your 18's at? I use 38psi all around but I am curious what you use...

Thanks!

is200,

i just noticed you live in manila ... if i lived in manila, i'd probably go with 20 lbs of pressure ... i've been to manila a number of times and find it hard to believe you can even drive an s2k there... makati blvd is a mess, what with potholes and jeepney's, and 24x7 traffic.

where can you open the s2k up and vtec??

don't mean to knock manila. i have enjoyed my trips there and like the filipino people a great deal. just seems like a tough place to fully enjoy a sports car like the s2000. in all seriousness, i am curious as to where you drive... next time i'm in manila i might be able to take a drive

btw, i had the same complaint about the suspension stiffness shortly after purchasing my '02 s2k. you can look at some of my earlier posts in december. i was having a problem driving over "washboarded" roads here in the sf bay area. i have noticed that with about 1600 miles on my car now the suspension seems to have mellowed a bit. the bumpiness on the washboarded roads is still there, but i'm either getting used to it or again the suspension is getting a little more supple. i've boosted my tire pressure back up to 32 psi...
