I think you will find 40 too high. I would suggest you experiment with 32 to 35 cold, which when hot will be ~34 to 38. Much higher and you will be giving up traction.

Someone recommended 33 for all four tires. They found that it was a good pressure for general driving. Forgot who recommended it. I thought it was you cdelena.

This is the tire combo I'm currently running. How do you like it?

I run mine at about 39 psi. I don't notice them being too loose, of course I have never really run them with less. I do notice that the car is extremely sensitive to throttle input. This could be the car, could be the tire pressure.

Last weekend a couple of us ran about 100 miles of canyons. I had my tires at 39 and never felt like I was anywhere near losing adhesion. At the end of the day, however, my right front was down to 16 psi. I'm not sure if I broke a bead or maybe picked up debris. It seems to be holding air now. Any thoughts?

It could be a very smal puncture or a nail stuck to tire. you have to put the tire in the water to find out. I had a tire runs out of air in 3-4 weeks. I couldn't figure it out so took it to the shop and they put it in the water and there were tiny bubbles like in beer.

cheers,
