Default tire size for stock AP2 rims

So I did a search about this but no one went into enough detail

I'm about to buy a set of Kumho SPT's in stock AP2 size 215/45 245/40 when I come along an old post about people going up to 225/45 255/40.

Now I understand that a wider tire should give you a wider contact patch. What worries me is that the tire is taller than the stock tire. Even more so I'm worried about the tire being too wide. If its too wide you cause the contact patch to arc at high pressures (auto x setup) therefore reducing contact patch.

Anyone have an opinion on this before I spend my money

SPT's are super expensive you know ;-)

good idea...I'm not used to being on such a well organized forum.

I'm not sure how to do that without just posting this again though
