Default Tire Wear

I am approaching 45K miles on my 2000 S2K and I am ready to replace my 3rd set of rear tires, the front ones are still ok but are starting to show signs of wear. I replaced the original S02's with S03's so that means about 15K miles on the rears and I'm guessing about 17-18K on the fronts. Tire pressure is consistently around 33 psi. I am taking it to the dealer for the 45K serrvice and that service includes alignment. Is this unusual tire wear or is it about normal for the Bridgestones. I dont drive the car hard and check tire pressure reguarly. Is there anything else I should have the dealer look for during this service? BTW, I will be getting Michelin Pilot Sports next time around based on feedback I received in terms of wear and performance. Thanks for any advice.

The two best things I've done to my S2K is to get rid of the S-02's and get a four wheel alignment. I replaced the OEM tires with Yokahama AVSdb's which are way more comfortable, quieter, and last twice as long. You'll give up very little cornering power but the trade-off is worth it unless you're going to track the car. If you know how to drive fast without understeer, set the rear toe at .00 to .05. Just don't stand on the brakes if your in the middle of a turn. This will give about 25-33% more tire wear and about 1 1/2 more mpg. The Pilot Sports are great tires too.

I'm pretty much sold on the Michelins, I will call the dealership to make sure they do a 4 wheel alignment. Thanks for the info.
