S2000 Talk Discussions related to the S2000, its ownership and enthusiasm for it.

Tired of reading all of the wrecked S2000 threads.

Some geniuses can't drive an S2000 in the rain. What makes you think they can possibly drive one in the snow with snow tires? Let 'em crash. Makes the ones left even more valuable.
And the guy who thinks you can drive an S2000 in the snow with extreme performance summer tires just because they have tread? The only thing you're missing is a clue. Find one before you kill someone.
somebody didn't get my sarcasm, did they?

A few years back, some dork posted a similar statement. He was dead serious. Perhaps he's actually "dead" by now.
Glad to see you aren't one of those geniouses.

Well,
Normally, we don't see much snow here. Maybe once every two year or so..
Last year, it snowed 4 times..
This winter, we had 6~8 inch of snow..
I am really considering a set of winter tires.. and mount on stock rims..
I never.. seriously.. never thought we would need a set of winter tires in GA.. That's why I have two sets of summer tires.. but no all season or snow tires..

...or just roll on some all-seasons like the Advan s4s if you want to compromise. I'm still rolling on some g-force sports, but I only take the S out on nice weekend days and dont play around.

i drive my s on stock wheels in colorado snow,
perfectly fine, its just how you drive it, if you floor it duhh your not going to get any traction and spin out
just keep it under 2Grand and break ahead of time

-also give the 10 sec rule, dont follow someone close. Give them about 10 secs in front of you (4-5 car lengths) so if they spin out you can act appropriately.

-you dont need snow tires if you scrap stock ones before you drive and drive 25-30 mph when conditons are not optimal. dont try and keep up with trucks and suv's,

but snow tires are always a good idea

You own 1 S2000, you dont own them all. Let people wreck them. It increases the value of yours.

Snow tires are only a small part of the solution, you still have very limited traction even with snow tires.

You sir are not so smart. Do you not see that you are exactly the person that is being called out on this thread?

I learned from my 240's... they actually sold for less 5-6 years ago. Now that everyone is smashing them, they're getting harder to find.

Now that the S is a run-out car, they will likely hold their value and eventually increase once they hit a certain dollar figure and people pick up on them.

Sir not so much, you can drive anycar with any wheels if driven right,
tires bald or if there summer.
you just have to drive it correctly for the conditions.

if that means going 5 mph down a 40mph road so be it, i would do it if i had to

snow tires arent a MUST MUST have but they are nice if you want more contral on the roads

taking it slow and being cautious is the real thing people need to know.
you can spin out in winter tires with studs and chains by driving over confidently, i seen it
