Tires flat spotting?
Any one else having problems with the oem tires flat spotting after the car sits for a few days??? I have an 05 S2K and it's basically my weekend toy so it doesn't get driven every day and can sit for 4 or 5 days at a time. When I first drive the car after it's been sitting I get a vibration from the tires which goes away after they warm up. I know it's the tires because when I drive the car for several days in a row this doesn't happen. I also have a 90 Mustang GT which sits for days at a time too but I never have this problem with it. It has Yokohama AVS ES100's vs the Bridgestone's on the S2K so it may just be the difference in the tires. It's rather anoying and I wanted to see if any one else was experiencing the same thing.

With ABS on the S2K, how do you get flat spot's
I have never had an issue with vibration's on my S2K.

If you keep adequate pressure in the tires, they shouldn't flat spot after only a few days.
Mine do it too. I even had the balanced checked. It happens at 40 MPH on the same stretch of flat smooth road as I leave the house. I suspected it was something like that, thanks for confirming that this isn't just in my head.
If its getting cold where you live, it could just be a combination of low tire pressure and cold air making the tires stiff and out of round untill they heat up. This isn't necessarily abnormal.

I have flat spotting occurring with the Avon tires I bought recently. My car will sit for 3-4 days sometimes, and has a noticeable vibration for the first 5 minutes of driving. Once the tires are warmed up, it goes away. It does appear to be more noticeable now that it is getting colder here. (Low 40 degrees F.)
Normal tire pressures do not prevent this.

"Flatspotting" usually refers to a permanent flat spot ground into the tire, usually by spinning but sometimes by locking up a tire under braking. One this happens, the tire is pretty much ruined.
When a round tire sits for a while with weight on it, it can "take a set". But you will confuse people if you call this "flatspotting". The difference is that after the tire heats up a little, the "set" will disappear.
