dont get the SP9000, I really dont appreciate it.....
i'm really hoping i could order the Bridgestone RE01 from japan to replace my SP9000,
RE01 is about 1 or 2 levels upper than S02/S03, it's the newer version of the RE711

Try searching old threads because there are MANY MANY threads that talk about tires. I have seen a couple people here who have the Dunlop SP8000s and they seem to like them -- so those might be a better choice than the SP9000s. BUT I've heard a lot of good things about the AVS Intermediates too...and the cost a lot less than the AVS Sports. The Intermediates are suppose to be a real stickey tire (like our S-02s) but since they only cost $70something a tire it won't break the bank if they wear out quickly!

Here are some really good options, if money is no object. While some are available from direct sales but some will have to be imported for serious tuners. I rate them from brand and what I have tested myself, each conditions on Japan Tarmac roads up to 10,000KM on differing cars.

Bridgestone Potenza S-03 * NEW
Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Pole Position
Bridgestone Potenza RE540s (Semi-Slicks) * Optimum Track
Bridgestone Potenza RE711

Yokohama Advan TNR 045
Yokohama Advan Formula D01J (Semi-Slicks) * Optimum Track
Yokohama Advan A039 (Semi-Slicks)
Yokohama Advan A038 (Semi-Slicks)
Yokohama Advan Neova
Yokohama DNA GP

Dunlop SP Sport 9000
Dunlop Forumla RSV 98 Spec
Dunlop Formula FM901

Pirelli P-Zero ROSSO Yellow Label
Pirelli P7000
Pirelli Drago

Bridgestone Potenza RE010? Isn't that available in Canada? Have you checked with the Bridgestone head office? Because, I'm aware that this range is available internationally. Happens to be the same tyre for the Honda Integra Type R everywhere.

How do the original equipment tires compare with the tires recommended here?

I've asked Volco tires already, they said they've never heard of this model before. We dont even have RE711 here.

here's he link to RE01, jap site.

Bridgestone Potenza RE711 ... Standard on NSX's before 97 then it was switched to S-02. While stock S-02 is compared to general road driving conditions is nothing special, rain is horrible compared to it's Pole Position version.

Other than which, RE540s semi-slicks are preferably used for tracks on heat and durability results. While Yokohama Advan Formula D01J semi-slicks aren't too bad as well, maybe I'm guess that I'm more of a Bridgestone supporter than a Yokohama one.

And those RE01s ... I'll find out how much it costs but I won't be able to ship anything to you. I don't have anyone willing to do that at the current moment. Economic reflects aren't a vantage for export or not. As for the list, see what you can get locally. Like the Dunlop SP Sport 9000 is very good all round as well and the price isn't over-rated.

What is the correct tire pressure for the S02's? I heard 44 psi, or is it what is in the manual
