Default Titanium Shift Knob

I like the titanium shift knob that is an option with the s2000, but it sure gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Also, the knob gets really hot have you use the car. The heat from the transmission rises and heats up the titanium shift knob. I just bought a new momo shift knob. Does anyone know how to remove the titanium knob? I thought you might be able to simply twist off the shift knob, but it doesn't seem to move. Is there a trick? Help GaToR

You need to losen the nut below the knob, then the knob will just screw off.

There's a nut on the base of the knob. Just loosen it with a wrench by turning it CW (I believe) a full turn and then you'll be able to unscrew the knob.

Which way do you turn the bottom screw? Clockwise or counter clockwise? GaToR

Put a wrench on it and spin the wrench clockwise. It's a right handed thread. The technical term for this set up is a "jam nut". After you put on the new know twist the wrenck counterclockwise until it hits the knob. Hold the knob in position and "jam" the nut againt the bottom (counterclockwise).

heating the knob will make it easier to remove. it's next to impossible to do this in the winter.

Our esteemed sponsor HandA-accessories has the official installation instructions of most of the Honda accessories. In this case:

when you put the know back, just forget about putting the locking nut back. I have been driving my S2K without it and the shifter feels shorter.
