My boss came in last Monday after visiting Honda of Mentor (on the list as an MSRP dealer). They were telling him that 2002 will be the last model year!

I can't believe dealers are still saying that!

When I bought mine, the only other one in town was owned by the local Honda dealer, so it was extremely rare to see one. Everywhere I went, I was complimented and asked what it was...now they're a dime a dozen around here...

I see them for sale at dealer lots. I see them parked in parking lots. I see them on the road. I see them in every color, all the time.

I actually see more S2000's than Boxsters.

It's a good thing I paid over sticker for it in 2000, when now I could go and pick one up for much less than sticker.

Depressing isn't it...When I bought mine, all of the dealerships in the surrounding area were still spewing the song and dance about how rare the S2K's were and were demanding top buck. At that time, they wouldn't even deal for cash. I "finally" found a dealer selling them for $37K and thought I was getting a bargain. By the time I threw on a couple K in options and tax license, I walked out $43K+ lighter in the checkbook.

It's a crime what you folks in CA have to pay for an S2K.
Yup, but I guess the joy of driving year round with the top down makes up for it

I'm so afraid that it'll be the last time for a couple of months that I installed a heat lamp in the garage so I can sit in the car and pretend I'm driving.
(Visualizing you in the above) I hope your weather holds out...I can't go a day without driving mine

If you think you see too many S2K's, try moving to LA. I see one almost everyday. I don;t mind seeing them as much. Doesn't bother me one bit.

Don't mind if I do, I'm taking a much needed road trip to LA when summer arrives.

what i meant by perfect homes is that you wash regularly, you have the maintainance done on time without fail. they are usually sheltered pretty well and don't see too much inclement weather. In other words.......they get more TLC than some girlfriends

I agree... Before taking delivery of mine last June, I've only seen a hand full of them. Now down here in South Florida, I see a few every week.
