Too many tires, which set to use?
I'm picking up my new S2000 tomorrow, which of course will have new S02's on it. But I already have a set of Toyo RA-1's I had ordered for my old car.
So the question is, should I replace the S02's with RA-1's now or just keep the OEM tires and store the RA-1's for later. I was really looking forward to trying out the RA-1's, but what would I do with the S02's if I took them off? Do you think the R compound RA-1's will really be much stickier? Will the RA-1's last longer at the track?
Anyone in Houston want to buy a set of new S02's?

On my Civic, I used Toyo Proxes RA-1's (205/60 R13) on the front for drag racing. The were mounted on a wheels that were 13" by 7.5" and weighed 9 pounds each. The tires did really well and gave me tons of traction. They last a while for having a tread wear rating of 30. Of course, this was for straight line use only. I'm sure they'd wear down pretty quick during daily use. BTW, if they total your S2000, why dont' you see if you can buy it back from the insurance company? Then you could use the old rims to mount the RA-1's on.
I suggest using the SO2's first. Many of us believe S2K handling was dialed in using these tires to compensate for some weaknesses. Then when you switch to the Toyo's you'll have a basis for comparison.
