Thumbs up Too much air comming through convertable top..

Alright well i have a problem with my top. Right where it meets the top of the windshield.. there is too much airflow. I drive and the air comming through is very loud, like it isnt sealed good enough. Has Anyone had this problem?
I went to honda and they said they can replace the "Strikers" ($40 a piece) and it "should" fix it. The labor on replacing these is $150.00 which would mean spending around $230 to MAYBE fix it. Anyone know what i can do, instead of paying all that and have the chance of it not getting fixed at all??

I had the same problem after a new top was installed. Solved it by purchasing 2
hardtop strikers from hardtopguy.com for less than $50. Installed them myself in
about 15 minutes.

I did the same, but since my car is under warranty, the dealer took care of it. yes the hardtop strikers work for the softtop. And they fixed the problem.. not merely improved it.

It's a night and day difference. I couldn't understand why my top was so loud at 75 mph. I couldn't hear the radio! Now, I can have a quiet conversation at 90mph if I wanted.

I also have a windnoise issue but mine is due to the weatherstripping at the beginning point of the top...it is coming undone on the driver's side which creates an annoying wind noise.

The dealer said it would be around $200 to replace...I'll get it done when I take my car in for it's 45,000 mile service

I drive to Woodland Hills to work.. it's the worst on the freeway! Couldn't hear the radio either. Well thanks for the help. I ordered the strikers.. I should get them in a few days.

I put 1/4 inch aquarium air tubing on my hooks. cost only .25 cents and fixed the problem. Worth a try.

Since I have the same problem with wind noise, I am thinking of replacing the strikers with the hartop strikers. Can some one tell me if the "soft top" strikers are exactly the same to the hardtop strikers. I mean their dimensions !? (OK the fit perfectly to the car's frame, apart from that, are smaller and drag the top closer to the frame??). or the only difference of the two is that the hardtop strikers are made from different "stronger" material??
thanks nick
