The absence of the Miata is probably the most surprising. Looks like the first 10 drop-tops the author could think of were included.
And what's that about the CR having "quicker gearing" than everyday S's?

V6 Mustang and the C. Dion Sebring made the list? Yeah, automatic discredification. I'd say the Z4/M-roadster, Elise (though, it's a partial drop top), and MX5 would've made my list. Also, did anyone else notice that there were 9 cars? Unless they counted the Sky/Solstice as two.
