I have a MY00. Stock height and tires. I am looking at purchasing a OEM front lip for it. I just wanted to ask how much lower does it make the lip and does anyone have any issues with speed bumps and such. I already know that I can't pull to far up to a concerete bumper or a curb and that is with just the bumper. So I am conditioned for that part of it.

Any info would be great.

You probably lose less than an inch of ground clearance. I have a nasty driveway entrance that gives me no problem as long as I come in at a bit of an angle. Otherwise I scrape a bit but I also drag the tail a touch without such precuations so I didn't give anything up by installing the lip. (I'm also on stock suspenders)

 

I have a MY00 on stock wheels/tires and suspension also and added the OEM front lip. I'd say it's about an inch or so lower too. Just keep being careful around parking curbs and sidewalks and you won't have any problems. The font end of the car will look much improved too .

 

Yeah, I'd say about an inch. Just be extra careful on bumps, speedbumps and such (I found out the hard way!). I will say that even though it's a little sliver of plastic, it really adds to the overall look of the car.

 

Thanks guys. I really like the look also. It seems to square off the nose if that makes sense. That's why I want to get one. I think that is a perfect fathers day gift.
