Default Top down question for taller drivers

Being 6 foot 2, and not particularly long legged, my head protrudes above the top of the windshield and catches a lot of air when I am traveling top down. Personally, I have tried wearing a ball cap [I would like to protect that bald spot from sunburn] and found it won't stay in place. Ultimately, I have opted for a very short haircut with the top of my head machined down with #4 clippers - essentially a military style haircut. This seems to work because the fuzz does not get so badly ruffled by the wind, and my bald spot and thin top will just have to live with the solar exposure.
How about the other tall drivers here? How do they cope with top-down motoring?

I am 6'1" but my head doesn't go over the top of windshield like you but my hair still flops around every which way. I am still looking for the perfect hat for sun protection. I don't like baseball style hats because of the "hat-hair" problem afterwards. And it has to be on tight otherwise it goes flying in the wind. The search for a perfect hat continues.......

I am 6'3" and don't have a problem with ruffled hair, but then I always go for a grade 2 on top and don't have any thinning to worry about! I also have the seat pushed right back and tilted right back, I find this comfortable and keeps me low in the car.

The only problems I have are 1) buffeting from the rear as I don't have an aeroscreen, and 2) the English weather!!

Also, just like to say HI! to everyone here, just joined last week after picking up my used red '00 model about a month ago - what a motor!! :-)

I am 6' 0" and I have no problem. Is your seat totally upright? I have it angled down quite a bit and my head is way below.

I wound up with a #3 cut on top and use a baseball cap worn backwards and tight. I only use the cap on long trips, apparently my bald spot can handle the trip to work and back. With the short hair, hat-hair is not much of a problem.

I'm 6' and have the bald spot problem too. My wife got me a hat at the golf course pro shop--similar to the one Jerry (?) Petersen is wearing in S2K Porn 2. I think it's been called a "cheese cutter?" It has an elastic head band. It doesn't feel too tight, and has withstood 75 mph with top down. The bill isn't as broad as a ball cap, and angles down a little more. I find it quite comfortable, but I'm waiting for it to fly off when an 18-wheeler passes going the opposite direction one of these days. At $30 I think I'll go back for it.

Thanks for all the useful suggestions. I need to keep the seat upright, since that is my comfortable driving posture. Lowering the seat remains a possibility, but I would be afraid that it would lead to a less comfortable driving position, and might make entry and egress a bit harder. Perhaps I will try a smaller brimmed hat.
Let's just say that this discussion thread has left me sadder but visor [groan].

I'm 6' 1".

Installing the Mingster Aeroscreen made a big difference in the wind turbulence in my car. The only thing that will get me to wear a hat is when the sun is at a low angle so that it's in my eyes but not low enough that the windshield frame blocks it.

You can always do what the Japanese do: baseball cap with a chin strap! (j/k )
Aside from what's already been suggested, you tall fellas might consider doing a sunvisor mod. Like an extension to it that is bent up a bit forming a sort of wind deflector. My old Viper had visors that stuck up and out into the wind at the top of the windshield and by playing with the amount of angle it stuck in the air stream, you could raise the "buffet ceiling" several inches.
