I get hammered too, so, I usually wear a ball cap.
However, to keep from losing them, I purchased a "cap leash". It's just a short cord (about 6"long) with a heavy clip at each end. One clips to the hat, and the other to my shirt collar.
It works great, and I've never lost a hat.

I've asked for something like this - but the REAL thing - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1748794575 for the last two christmas but people must think I'm joking.

I just try and keep my hair short, if anyone says anything about the mussed look I always sport I just tell them my stylist is topless!!

I came close to losing one while driving through the California desert last year. I was careful to have a string attached to the hat and around a button on my shirt for most of the trip, but for some reason decided things seemed secure and drove a bit without it hooked to anything. I then passed a big semi going the other way with a closing speed of probably 160 mph and the turbulence nearly pulled it off. A quick hand managed to save it. I kept it on a leash from then on.

Unless it's really hot or the sun is in just the wrong position, I don't wear a hat.

Here is a shot of my leash. I tried to "edit" it into my last post, but it wouldn't work.
