you need to disconnect the fuse for the convert. top to raise/lower it manually. its located under the dash on the passenger side. check the owners manual, thats where i saw it.

Isn't this a first? I have never heard of a top motor going out before. How old is the car?

my car is a 2001 with 21k miles on it......sits in the garage mostly.....it was only a few days after i took it out of winter storage that the left motor stopped working, and yes, I checked all the fuses and breakers! The right will begin to take the top down, but then the left refuses to work. Anyway, does anyone know how to access the top motor compartment? I looked into accessing through the trunk, but it doesnt appear like this is the way to do it. I may be taking the driver seat out and removing the plastic panels that surround the rollover bars and see if thats where they are hidden!
