I have made a little more progress with Honda in getting my abraided top replaced. I reported that Honda had agreed to replace my abraided top with a similar top and I pay for labor. Now, after some letter writing and dealership interaction, Honda has agreed to replace my top with a new 03 top and I pay the difference. The dealership is gathering information in terms of the cost involved for the new top and the labor for installing it is still being negotiated. So far, the dealership is offering a discounted labor rate but I am pushing for no labor costs. I'll keep everyone posted.

Just got back from picking up the top at the freight company. It looks great. I traded my HKS exhaust to another member for the complete 02 assembly. I originally paid $500 for my HKS, so I'm extemely satisfied with the transaction. On top of that I've already sold my 00 top.

As for as doing it myself. It was fairly easy, took me an hour to take the old assebly out and will probably take a little more time to put it back together but I don't anticipate any problems. Can't wait to put it on.

Hondafan, did your new top come attached to the frame? When you took off your old top, did you leave it attached to the frame, any idea how much a new frame runs? If I were to do the conversion, I would want to put the new top on the updated frame like you're doing...sounds like you got a good deal!!
