Im asking on windows DOWN when the top is UP
I won't do that.. but I usual drive topdown w/ windows up

Hey.. spicyhands, I know what you asking! The reason I NEVER do that because before I bought the S, I saw alot old convertible's shape like a ball (arched, very round and look ugly), and most of them drive just like you mention (top up but windows down).
I don't know, I was thinking the same thing as you, the pressure changing the shape of the convertible (like parachute).

But that's just IMO, I'm not sure about that

I never do this....if the windows are down the top should be as well.
And if you never do it, then nobody should?

No harm in doing this. In fact, on the track it is usually required for windows to be down (for reasons of emergency access to the driver or egress from the car). And sometimes people run with the top up, either because of the weather or because they want the aerodynamic benefit.

So if people can do it on the track at very high speeds, it's fine for the highway too.

Well the track are short distances. I wanna know like a 15-20 min ride on the hwy. Is there a chance of ripping the top or streching it like stated above(parachute).

Driv300mph-I do this cause we get alot of scattered shower in miami. So its better to be safe and put the top up on those funny looking days.
But yeah if not for that I ALWAYS have that top dwn

Dude, a typical track session is 20-40 minutes, at much higher than highway speeds. Don't sweat it.

However, on the street I usually did not do this. But that was personal preference. The air conditioning works better than rolling the windows down anyway.

Been doing it for years. Nothing to worry about. My daily driver commute car. Only drop the top on very nice days. Rest of my commute is with top up and windows down.

What's more detrimental, having 75mph headwinds pushing the top back through inside the cabin, or repeatedly putting the top up and down?

I guess times change...When I first started looking in on this board{about 7 years ago]...The typical word was real roadster drivers NEVER drive with top down windows up.The tradition was taken from english roadsters that had plastics windows on cooler days had scarfs etc and loved to drive with the elements.Having your radio being heard, having
hair not blowing in the wind and having a convertible with the convenience of a hardtop is more the roadster driver today.

To each is own my friends....Happy New Year-Stew
