Cool Torn soft top replaced FOC

Hi! I waz washing my car during the Labor Day weekend when i discovered the "mini" tear on the driver side!!!! My car's a MY01 with 35,500 miles and the warranty had since ran out in March 04......

Fortunately, i thought the extended warranty i bought from Warranty Direct online will cover the tear. (As the convertible top, mechanism, motor was not in the items not covered list) To my dismay, i waz told that only the mechanism and motor were covered if there's a mechanical failure on either one but not the soft top, which was not even stated in contract!!!! The claims manager said the soft top came under the item "Trim" which was stated as a non-covered item!!!! "Trim"???!!! I though that referred to the interiors of automobiles!!!!!! So much for spending lotsa $$$ on extended warranties only having them fail you when you need them!!!!!!

So i bit the bullet and dropped by my local Honda Dealer "Beaudry Honda of Tucson". Spoke to a claims manager through my regular service manager highlighting the design flaw i learned from our S2K website and guess what??!!!! Today must be my freaking lucky day!!!!!!!! Beaudry would actually replace my soft top free out of goodwill including the labor!!!!!!! Thumbs Up for Beaudry Honda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So sometimes dealers might not be so anal after all!! Good luck to all who are trying to get theirs replaced with their dealers. Dun give up juz give it a try...........
