Damage like that on a 2002 is pretty close to totalled. I'll be surprised if they don't total it. Sucks to see that Shock...was a nice car.

in most states if u have hit someone in the rear no matter what they claim it to be your fault. in NYS if you rearend someone its always ur fault. Even if the cops gave her a ticket she can always come and sue you for damages. I know a person who purposely slammed his brakes on the highway in front of a guy (dont ask me why long story) and got rearended and insurance didn't cover him but he later sued the other guys insurance company and won.

AND apollo is right. technically your suppose to keep enough distance so that you can take the right actions of avoid a collision. And if you were watching the road fully u would have seen her and honked at her...

Anyways sorry about the accident!!!! hope ur over 25 because if ur not insurance hike is gonna b a bitch

How do the front/back door gaps compare on either side? Does the passenger door open and close completely right? That is probably totalled.

I haven't tried to open the passenger door, looks as though if I did the fender will either rub the paint off or might jam. Should know if its totaled on monday or tuesday.
