The sales tax is based on the sales tax of your home zip code, and in regards to registration, it will be a pro-rated amount.

no really, anyone wail on the driver at fault?

Well, then I guess the guy who hit my wife yesterday can be considered VERY lucky.

My wife was driving about 10mph down the street near a school when a 16 year old on a bike-riding the WRONG direction-blows through his stop sign and runs into the side of her car.

He left $2200 damage on her passenger side doors (about 3 foot long gouge like dents down both doors). He admitted to the cop who arrived that he was at fault and she had a witness-who nearly hit the same jerk a block back when he pulled a similar stunt on her.

She calls our insurance who is going to take care of it, but the bad part? Geico is having to threaten the hell out of the guy and his family. Not only do they seem to think that they don't have to pay for damages inflicted to someone's property, but they think that the fact that he's a bicyclist, HE needs to be paid for someone hitting him.

Funny thing, though? My wife has three ambulance chasers in the family.

Still, if the guy had done that to either of MY cars and tried that garbage, I hope that some of you are on the jury at my murder trial. Driving like a jackass, damaging someone's property, deciding that YOU deserve a payout?

My brother crashed my S and had the same amount of damage on the same spot, and it wassn't totalled. Then again, none of my airbags were deployed.
