Default Towing... dont flame please

I have done a search on this before and read all about the torque, subframe rigidity and so on. But it has been so many years. How many people consistently tow something with your S2000 for years and have not had problems? How much do you tow?

I recently found bikelug trailer that can tow my sportbike and the trailer is only 170lb. If I add my bike which weighs around 480 wet. Let's just say around 530lb with all my gears and tools. I will be towing 700 lbs.

This will not be a daily thing but maybe a couple times a year? From here to VIR is about 100 miles...

Lots of Auto-X drivers and track junkys tow their gear on a small trailer to/from the events. Year after year.

700 is kind of a lot. There are some people who haul tire trailers with two sets of tires... but that total setup is still probably <500#.

I know "dead-bird" pulled a little camper trailer all over the place without a problem. Don't know how much that thing weighs, but maybe still less than 700.

If you're talking about 100 miles away a few times a year, I'd rent a pickup truck or borrow one from a friend.

FWIW, I'd be fine with ~500#. Or more weight and trips across town.

Maybe look to see how much dead-bird's setup weighs. If you're in the same ballpark, probably okay.

Consider the Chase Race hitch. It's pretty slick.

My loaded tire trailer is 550lbs. with one set of tires. I've put >5k miles on it without any problems. I would think the S could handle 700lbs for a 100 mile trip without too much trouble. Just make sure you get the tongue weight right and take it easy starting and stopping.

my trailer is 870lbs. cars pulls it with no problems. i have pulled it over 2000 miles already this season. i have the chase hitch, and he recommends a 200lb toungue weight with 1000lb max load, so easily within his specs.

it is even setup for the hardtop too...
