Ap2 is better for all around driving. Ap1 for something special and fun.
215 does't sound that good considering that a healthy AP1 with (carefully selected) intake and exhaust will dyno around 205.
Also, you are losing the advantage of the higher rev limiter if you don't use a shorter cwp, and actually it's the other way round comparing with an AP2, they have a shorter secondary gear reduction.

I agree, but i said not completely stock, intake and exhaust with test pipe. This combo is proven to make some more power. Add it to a healthy AP1 making 195 and you have 200+, probably 205.
Other than this, what i am saying is, AP1s have 700rpm more stock to work with compared to AP2, allowing you to use a shorter cwp compared to an AP2. If you do make use of it, it will make up for the difference in power.
Yes, correct. But no matter what you do, the AP2 will always have more power but less rpm range to work with. The AP1 will always be able to use a shorter cwp to compensate for the lower power. This is applicable mainly for track and weekend toys, not many would like to live with a short final drive in everyday driving, esp. highway driving.
I chose to go with an ap1 because I couldnt bring myself to hack up my ap2 to fit the roll bar. There's a lot of pluses on the ap2 side of the house for track purposes, but honestly I have way more enjoyment out of my ap1 being track prepped and with 4.56 gears than I ever did with my ap2. 9k all day.

Now, say you throw a couple of mods on the car. Ap1 has better gearing than the ap2. Throw some AP2 rims on an AP1 and car changes dramatically. Throw a Moddiction sway front bar in the AP1 and things get even more fun.
As a AP1 owner I can't get used to the shorter gearing on the AP2's. I drove some of my buddies AP2's and I have no love for them.
In the end the AP1 and 2 are great track cars, but the AP1 needs a little modding to make life at the track more enjoyable.

The 17" rim difference is the total of the handling difference between otherwise stock AP1 and AP2s. AP2 rims/tires on an AP1 is the best of both worlds with handling. The extra grip tames the AP1, but yet it will still aggressively rotate when asked. Learn to drive the car to the edge and you WILL be able to corner more aggressively than the safer AP2s.
Drivetrain wise, the AP2 clearly has a better engine if peak/average power and drivability are a concern. However I have found on most tracks, my AP2 friends need an extra shift often that I don't. The F20c doesn't have the broad power, but it does have the rpm flexibility. When you are side by side at the end of a long straight that extra 500-1000rpms you can carry is HUGE.
I think the AP1 gearing is perfect, and wonder if it would even work better with a F22C.
