Default Track Racing Requirements

Several of the tracks here in the North East will not allow convertibles on them unless they have roll bars installed.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Is having the optional hardtop enough to get on the track? Has anyone installed a rollbar? How do you get a stock S2000 on the track?

This thread may be helpful: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=53959

It describes an aftermarket rollbar that is higher than the stock hoods. I plan on lowering my seating position as well to gain even more clearance.

The DE events that I attend in the SE allow the stock hoops, but require the signing of a "roll bar waiver" because the stock hoops are so low.

I can't speak about all of the tracks in the NE, but at Watkins Glen the decision is left up to whomever is renting the track (i.e., SCCA, PCA, BMW-CCA... ).
