I've a VSA on my car. I can tell you VSA is a good safety net.

When do you need VSA?
Currently, I've Hankook Evo K12s on my car, and they tell me next to nothing about the road, especially wet-road.
As a result, my reaction time is a bit delayed. Usually, I still notice before VSA kicks in, but not always.

PS. VSA does let me explore my car outside of track.....when it kicks in, I know its the limit. Plus its always fun to slide a bit and have VSA correct your mistakes. In snow its a life-saver as well. I've done a number of tests in snow to see how it works....and its pretty amazing stuff. Sometimes I drive at limits and I know VSA got my back....I trust computer more then I trust myself, I am not a pro driver.
Like I said, it might be useless on track, but on street its a huge bonus which you can always turn off if needed.

and for people that say: drive smart and careful......well there are unpredictable situations on the road and no matter how smart you are, you can get killed when you make 1 little mistake in emergency situation. ice/oil patch on the road for example....there is a member here who totaled his car on oil patch without VSA.

Yeah, I'm putting my '00 up for sale right away. I guess the past 12+ years of driving it overpowered with a blower was just luck. Don't wanna push my luck anymore. Heck, I think I'm never going outside again. I might slip on a patch of ice, fall down and crack my skull open. I'll go out again when they invent VSA for pedestrians - PSA.
FYI, You can still get into trouble WITH VSA. It won't save you from the laws of physics or bad luck. To worry about buying a car without traction control? Worry more about the bozo who's driving drunk.

No, you should't sell it.....many old/older cars dont have power steering, Airbags, ABS, etc.....it doesnt make them bad cars. My point was/is that VSA (and other systems) is a big step forward in safety. < thats why ALL cars today have this, be it S2000, some base 323i BMW, or a Ferrari. (ps Germans use it since like early 90s on all cars)

You can be a 100% pro and safe driver, or you dont have to be one and still drive 50 mph in snow blizzard in S2000. I am pretty sure most people here are not pro drivers though. My skill + VSA = win win for me. Its not that I drive like crazy and VSA light kicks in all the time, but when I make a mistake I am glad car is still going straight.

No don't sell those death traps!!!! They all must be crushed immediately! The recycled metal can be used to make new vsa modules.
