To trade my MINI in or not to trade it in
The car has had 2 previous owners. And true, something to think about (the driven hard bit). Will a mechanic be able to spot if it has been driven hard in the inspection? Why do you think it's an indication that is has been driven hard if he didn't taken the mods off? (edit: he is bringing all the stock bits back to the dealership tomorrow. Hopefully he brings back the stock exhaust because I can't say I'm a fan of the exhaust now)
BMXer- you think the S2000 would pull the JCW? Interesting. Maybe I underestimated these cars.
Seems a bit high...for comparison https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/967...ap-ventura-ca/ although a few more miles, I would probably take that.
If you really want it, do it. Take the mods off your mini and then trade it in. Once you get the S, buy an OEM exhaust and sell the one on that car. I can't really tell but it looks like a greddy or hks on there. I bought an OEM exhaust off craigslist with only 60k miles on it for $90. If that is a greddy or hks on there, someone will buy it from you. Or if you like it, then keep it
. IMO that S would go for 20k-21k from a private seller.

Exhaust is definately not stock. Find out what coilovers they are. I agree the brake child looks like it needs a change I am sure that it probably needs a diff child change and trans fluid change to. Did you check the oil? How do the tires look?
The top does seem to have wear but that's normal on a car with that many miles. How is the interior? Are the bolsters worn? Leather worn? I think a straight up trade is fair based on the wear on the car and I bet a mini dealer could sell a mini much faster than the s.
