At least the 3 Series doesn't yet have the sleepy eye look of the new 7 and 5.
I test drove the G35 sedan, and it's a pretty powerful car. However, the interior looks cheap and the brakes are very grabby. The G35's interior has a lot more space, though. Great car, nonetheless, but I felt the 330i's performance is the same and it's a better balanced car overall. The 330i's build, fit and finish is very, very good!

I was seriously contemplating the 04 Acura TL (great shifter), but didn't like the steering feel and to some extent the FWD dynamics. Now, if Honda/Acura made a RWD/AWD 4-door sports sedan with a 6 spd, I'd be looking hard at it!

Sorry to hear, but the BMW is a great car. I just traded in my '01 S2000 last week, too. Driving an '03 Ford F-150 Supercab for now... '04 S2000 in April hopefully

Great choice. Earlier this year I was looking at the G35 and the 3-Series. The G35 performs pretty well, but like sonusfaber said, the interior is very cheap. So much so, that even though the performance was nice, I had to turn it down because the plastic looked like a two-year old had spray painted it.

If you think people who buy a BMW are buying it for the name, you're right. Because with the BWM logo, comes the full maintainence-free warranty along with the perfect blend of luxury and sportiness. S2000 is a raw driver's car. If you want a full featured roadster, the Z3 or Z4 are perfect choices. Lined self-tonneau, self-locking top? Come on, you know you'd love something like that
