if you guys havent driven a 2000 celica gts 6speed then you dont know how close the shifter gates are. Then again almost all the misshifts are due to driver error but the spacing between them is seriously slim. Im sure your shifting is fine. Im on newcelica.org under the sn of Vroom_Vroom.

Yess! i've tried explaning this to a friend of mine that has an Evo 9 MR he thinks that by "slamming" and "banging gears" you go faster I laugh because I dought his clutch and trans will last him. But when I shift my car I do it with ease and with little effort or stress on the shifter. it's one motion CLUTCH.. SHIFT.. CLUTCH.

We are talking about transmissions here, not buggers.

the 3-4 is by far the most misshifted gear. its as if you're pulling the shifter toward you and back at the same time. I used to say the same thing until it happened to me..

the primary reason for the mis-shift is speed shifting and ham fisting the shift knob instead of placing the palm at the top.

at 30 i still thank my dad whenever he's in the car with me for properly showing me how to drive a manual, even learned how to rev-match, d/c and heel and toe from the guy. thanks dad!
