When ever you see the comment about more elbow room, you can be sure that all the writer did was copy the press release and fluff it up with some of his own stuff. Come on it was increased 0.5". I'm not knocking the new car, just a lazy reporter.

It is the job of the auto journalist to report on the changes and differences between models. That is in fact, the whole purpose of the piece. In order to do that they will inevitably mention the same things that are in the manufacturers' press releases. Not to say that what you allege doesn't ever happen, but it's clearly unfair to make broad generalizations.
BTW, the .5" increase is the measurement at the shoulder. The deepest increase in the resculpted door panels is in the elbow area.
