Default Transporting CF Trunk In The S2000

ill be picking up a cf trunk in my s2000 and will be driving back home with it. the drive is a good 6 hours long! the person who im picking the trunk up from said he was able to transport it in his car but with the top down and not too clear visibility on his right side due to the box obstructing his view. so my question is, will it be possible to transport a cf trunk, still in the box maybe, with the top up? if i have to, ill remove the trunk from the box and just wrap some towels or something around it to add some protection. thanks.

and if this topic isnt in the right section, my apologies

Why don't you drive over there trunkless; bolt it on when you get there and happily drive home with your new CF trunk?

that would work probably for most people but in my situation it wont i actually will be picking it up the night before i leave for back home so that leaves no time for install. i have a shop back home that usually does my work so i would rather bring it to them to save on labor cost and incase it has an issues, id rather have them deal with it due to their experience plus, i wouldnt mind taking my stock trunk back home with me and leaving it there versus having it stay in my already small apartment, haha.

but thanks for the suggestion

im buying it from another member, not an actual store so the only way for shipping to happen is for me to set it up myself. and again, i dont have time to set anything like that up i literally will be getting the trunk, going back home to rest, then leaving at like 6am. i usually like to plan buying my mods, as in i dont run into these type of problems, but the deal came up and it was somewhat too good to pass on, haha.

Take your stock trunk lid off your car and see if it fits in your car with the top up. Then you can be certain if it's going to work

no tools to do so or what do i need? i know i should have a set on me but everything i have is at home. all i have on me is a hammer and a couple screwdrivers for fixing up the apartment, haha. how pathetic i did kind of eyeball the measurements and it looks like it may fit at certain angles.

thanks for the suggestion though. i actually would go ahead and do that if i had the proper tools.

I'm not certain but I'd imagine you need a 12 mm socket at the very least, but I've never taken mine apart.
