all you need is a 10mm socket and a flat long screwdriver to pull the springs off. i would drive up there w/o a trunk and put the cf trunk quickly (4 bolts) and have your shop adjusted once you get back.

good luck

I never thought about that... with the passenger seat out it should be really easy to fit a trunk lid... the seat is really easy to remove.

It does fit on the passenger seat with the top up. Make sure you use something for padding because it does rest against the top. If you try a couple different ways trying to put the top up you'll see it'll only fit one or two ways. I had the passenger side of the trunk resting against the top and I think that two sides of the driver side rested on the dash/ transmission tunnel. It does not shake or rattle enough to damage it but it's always nice to use towels or pillows for your new baby.

I drove ~ 4 hours with it sitting in the side. Just make sure you don't need your passenger side mirror cause there's not a chance of seeing it. I doubt it would fit in the box even if you removed the seat.

Just pop it in next to the passenger seat and you'll be fine! I have carried like this a whole Invidia Exhaust in the past! Look the pictures below!
