Any hardware store, it is called painter's tape. Usually made by 3M and it comes in varying degrees of stickiness based on color I think.

I just drove across the country in my lotus, I didn't get any chips. I just had a lot of bugs on the windshield. Get a clear bra if you are worried.

lol, that's hardcore. Most people don't buy lotuses for cross-country touring...

Painter's tape is indeed available in a variety of sticknesses - it'll say on the label how many days it will go safely before you have to remove it. Higher is better in this case because you don't really have a need for anything except high removability.

I would go w/ Scotch Blue #2080 for delicate surfaces, it has 60 removability and low adhesion (should be fine for the car, though).

You're right most people do not drive their lotus for cross country touring but a lot of people on the west coast purchase their Lotus at HRM in Connecticut bc of their excellent customer service and prices. They usually fly from Cali and drive that sucker right back to the west coast.

I recently moved from Hoboken, NJ to LA and didn't trust the shipping company to move the lotus. So I had my other two cars shipped because, ehh I really don't care too much about em. But driving aspect wasn't bad at all, the bad part was driving in states like Tenn, AK, NM, etc..
