Default trickle chargers

1) Any recommendations on trickle chargers? 2) My S2K will be under a car cover in the garage for the winter. Do I have to take the battery out to use a trickle charger?

I have been using the Battery Tender brand for years now without any complaints. They make a kit that you bolt to the terminals and just unplug the charging unit when not in use, once and done installation. Good luck with your choice.

I'll vouch for the Battery Tender also. Had one wired up in a car for six plus years. I've also had a CTEK for many years. It's seen a ton of use and been bulletproof.

Is it advisable to run the battery tender, with the hood closed, under a car cover?

Battery tender Jr. I just leave the battery connected to the car and clip the battery tender terminals on.

Then I go back inside where it is warm.

I've never had an issue doing just this with multiple cars.

I have two Battery Tenders and two Battery Tender Juniors in the garage right now. Have been using them for years without a problem. I credit the Battery Tender for my OEM battery in the S2000 lasting 13 years.
