Tried to loose a Cop on a bike.
One morning in the corner of my eye...I saw a policeman jump on his motorcyle because he clocked my speed (speeding). I knew it would take some time for him to get onto the feeder so I guned it and tried to loose him in some back roads.
Technically I wasn't running from him beacause he wasn't flashing his lights yet...haha. I almost lost him, but there was this strait away where I couldn't dodge him anymore, so I gave up. Anyhow, he was ticked off and when he was writing me the ticket...he said "What is this...a new BMW?".
I told him it was a Honda...and he looked at me like I was pulling his leg. He said..."I don't think so". I showed him the "H" on my steering wheel and he wrote me the ticket and took off.

hehe...I don't have any direct experience running from cops (wink wink)...but I can imagine that they are not all too happy once they catch you...! Bummer about the ticket, Unicron.
I was traipsing around Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin a while back and a guy on a motorcycle tried to out run the cop that was chasing him. It was something to watch alright! But a mile of so up the road the cop's persistence paid off and the guy pulled over. I am sure he went to jail or got lots and lots of tickets...
Better luck next time!

I did lose a cop a few weeks ago in the same general situation as unicron's.
The cop was coming the other way on a 4-lane surface road with fairly heavy traffic and he got a good look at me with his radar. (I hasten to say that I was going the same speed as everyone else on the damn road, which was 15 over.) I saw him put his turn signal on in my mirror, and decided he just might be turning around to come after me.
So I suddenly decided it was time to check my map and see if I might be lost. Just past a bend in the road I turned into a residential sidestreet, drove past an SUV parked at the curb, and parked in front of it. I got the local map out and started looking at it.
While I was reading the map I heard a commotion on the main road. Sounded like a cop chasing somebody, but I couldn't see because, darn it, that SUV was blocking my view.
Using the map, I found some nice back roads that got me home without going back to the main artery.

I guess some troopers are pretty clueless. When I got busted doing '86 in a '70 back in March I noticed after the cop handed me my citation he had written Civic on the auto description line. Civic, indeed! No, I don't think that could have gotten me out of the ticket.

In California that can be good for a free ticket to room and board with the county for up to one year. You may not get to drive your S2K for a long time, but you may find yourself a husband. Very smart.
