Add a "gas cap wire" to the list of annoying changes between 05 and 06

I'd definitely cut it.

the problem is that the cap is twisted, and its kinda 'coiling' up that plastic attachment.

just untangle it and when you recap the gas just do it so that it won't be tangle.

Saw this thread and tried out the gas cap holder in the door, and the wire was definately in the way. But the wire is a better form of gas cap VSA. I'll never lose the gas cap if it's attached. So I just let it hang.

Problem with letting it hang is that some gas station attendants will just let it drop. Some drop it HARD! I'm worried that it may damage the paint/clearcoat. I live in NJ so it is illegal to pump your own gas.

Most of the time I get out first to open the cap and put the cap on the "holder." Many times I can't get out in time because the attendant is already right there.

Wow, but, in NJ the problems worse. If the gas cap is attached, then the attendent can't lose it. And you know the gas station has dozens of old gas caps in the lost-n-found bins from the half asleep/half stoned gas pump attendants.

Anybody know why they made it illegal to pump your own gas? I would never let somebody pump my gas. I think it was this forum where somebody from NJ posted that a gas station attendant put regular in his S2k. I would be PISSED. Pump your own gas FTW.

the wire never comes in my way. just make sure it is not twisted and you will be fine. to me it is better if the gas station attendant drops it hard on the painted surface of the car instead of putting it on dirty fuel pump. this has happened to me in NJ.
