Default true? s2000 & NSX made in the same factory

I heard that the S2000 and the NSX are made in the same factory which happens to only make these 2 cars. No other Honda is made in that factory...

is this true?

if it is, kinda makes me feel like I should get a certificate or something with the car .

wil..

It's the Takanezawa plant in Tochigi, Japan. David is right, the S2000, NSX, and Insight are all built there.

Yeah, 50 S2000s, and 10 Insights a day. Oh and 1 NSX if there happens to be an order for one.

If I remember correctly, the factory rep said they could ramp up to one-hundred S2000's per day.

Another tidbit - the welding tools they have can operate at both aluminum and steel temps. No need to change anything when running a lone NSX through.

It is likely that the clutch and transmission are built by a supplier, not Honda. They are simply assembled in the Tochigi plant.

When my Dad took delivery on his NSX (waaaaay back in '91) they gave him a great hardcover book that details the whole assembly process for the NSX (including the 900 some-odd coats of paint they put on 'em to make 'em so shiny ). I'll try to get a hold of it next time I visit the family and put some pics of the factory and test track up. It's one helluva facility.
