Default True speed of my S2000?

I checked the speed of my S2000 at various points to compare its speedometer versus a calibrated radar gun (MPH K-15-2). Granted the radar gun could also attribute to a portion of the total percentage of error.

Speedometer Radar Gun Display
21 20
42 40
63 60
84 80
106 100

Note: At this rate (6%), My warranty will expire much sooner than I truely expected at 33962 miles. However, this percentage of error is probably well within Honda's limits, but I am sure anyone would not be very happy about losing $ at a rate of 6%. I will check with my service contact and respond with their answer.

Skip X- FYI

The only S2000 in this year's Silver State Classic noted the same thing:

"Silver State Road Race results:
We came in 4th in the 105 mph class, at an average speed of 104.9453 mph. Winning average 104.9806 mph. Had we relied on Honda's "quality" speedometer, we would have averaged about 100 mph with the odmeter reading 94.5 miles at the finish, instead of exactly 90 as the GPS indicated.
Which BTW cheats me out of about 1800 miles of warrenty by my calculation."

Did you verify the odometer has the same error? MY BMW bike has a conservative speedo but nearly dead-nuts odo. I hear that is a common manufacturer approach to the issue.

I called my contact at Honda. It appears serveral owners have complained about this anomaly. They stated that they will look into this further.
