You probably don't need to do as much as I did to the bottom of the trunk or the sides. I went for both NVH as well as thermal insulation there. Noise wise it is the least bang for the buck with the exception of the area under the tray/driving compartment. However the thermal part was great because on long drives the stuff in the trunk does not get so hot the way it used to.
