Default Trunk Leaking?

After a heavy 2 days of rain, find out my trunk is definitly leaking water some how. A puddle forms right dead center of the trunk in the indent. Weather strippign is fine, nothing else is wet, my car cover is on one side of the trunk and its bone dry, the other side is as well. theres no hole on the top of the trunk so i am very confused.

anyone else have this problem? (82k miles MY00 btw)

this happened to me when I first got my car, none of the topics I searched for helped me.

So I took out the trunk liner, and with the trunk opened, I took a gallon jug of water and poured it on the top. I then looked in the trunk with a flash light to see if I could see where it was coming in. Turns out on of the rivets that attach the top to the water track came out and water was coming in through the open hole. Put some tape, as a temp. fix, but it hasn't leaked yet (knock on wood). That was over a year ago.

I would do a search and if those problems are the culprit I would try what I just said

I had this problem with my WRX...turned out there was a crack in the bottom of the trunk cause I suppose someone ran over something at some time? Either way, especially when it snowed my trunk was soaked.

Read through that thread. 2 common leaks are the vent behind the rear bumper cover (can be re-caulked in place), or clogged drains from the convertible top gutter (clean out the drains). I posted some pictures towards the end of that thread showing how to clear the drains.
