Trunk lid CD storage space in matching red leather
When my sound system was installed last November, my installer custom-made a storage space for the trunk lid that was designed to hold four 12-disc CD cassettes. The idea was good, but the workmanship was very shoddy. The back was made of masonite and over time, the screws that attached it to the trunk lid pulled trough the masonite and the thing began flopping around. I jerry-rigged a solution with wire ties, but it looked awful.
Not to be deterred, when I recently installed rear mid-range speakers and tweeters and upgraded the amp to a five-channel, I decided to rebuild this thing and do it right. I used

Very nice, Rick.
When do you go on a trip that is sixty cds long? Oh my gosh. It could hold my whole Emmylou Harris collection!
Did you consider using the space over the gas tank instead of the spare tire space?

OK, amazing doesn't even begin to describe your talents!!! I can't believe how good that looks!!! Hats off to you AGAIN!!! The only time I've seen red leather look better was on my ex-girlfriend
Hey, any plans on making something like that available to the general public???

Barry,
I got through all the Beethoven piano sonatas on the way back from Asheville
. There isn't enough room over the gas tank for much. Making good use of what little space there is in the spare tire area is tough. I fooled around with cardboard mock-ups of everthing for a half a day until I got the fit right. I thought there was a lot more space until I tried to squeeze audio equipment into it.
S2KO,
If there's enough interest, we might make these. But with Muz's trunk lid storage liner, I'm not sure there's a need, unless you;re into leather.
